Once a year, Zyloware’s far-flung Account Managers convene in Westchester County, New York, to discuss the state of the business, learn from industry thought leaders and share best practices they’ve implemented over the past year. 2019’s National Sales Meeting was no different. This past weekend, attendees were treated to two days of education on the optical industry and Zyloware’s evolving place in it.

The two guest speakers at the National Sales Meeting were Jim McGrann, Chairman and CEO of Healthy Eyes Advantage, and Jay Binkowitz, Owner of Total Eye Care Partners. While McGrann detailed how factors like managed vision care insurance are influencing the industry as a whole, Binkowitz dove into the nitty gritty of optical sales from the optician’s perspective. Whether it was calculating revenue or counseling on merchandise placement, Binkowitz examined how Zyloware can serve as a trusted partner with clients to grow their business, in addition to providing frames.

This year’s Meeting also featured Z Talks, a take on TED Talks in which Zyloware Account Managers presented on a topic of their choosing. George McLeod and JaMarie Pfaff described how they were able to earn hard-won accounts this year, and Mary Lanning recounted her journey to the New York-based Zyloware from her home state of Texas.

Day One of the National Sales Meeting concluded with a banquet dinner, where Co-CEO and COO Jamie Shyer with National Sales Director Al Winnick presented awards for most units sold for each of Zyloware’s brands. After, Shyer spoke on the importance of the next year of Zyloware initiatives and how, after 96 years of leading the industry, the company’s best days are just beginning.
