Eye Health: What You Need To Know
Randy Jackson Talks Eye Health, Diabetes and the Importance of Getting a Yearly Comprehensive Eye Exam on The Dr. Oz Show
Taking his diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes to heart, Randy Jackson is on a mission to promote eye health and educate the world about diabetes prevention and reversal.
Randy recently appeared on The Dr. Oz Show to discuss eye health, overcoming his diagnosis with Type 2 diabetes, and to showcase the on-trend styling of his Randy Jackson Eyewear Collection. On the show, Jackson and Dr. Oz teamed up to educate the audience about the eye health risks associated diabetes, and why it is so important to get an annual comprehensive eye exam.
The Connection Between Diabetes and Eye Health:
People with diabetes need to take care of their eyes because this often can lead to Diabetic Retinopathy (“DR”), which is a complication of diabetes caused by damage to blood vessels in the eyes. There usually are no early warning signs or symptoms of DR which makes it difficult to detect without an eye exam. When vision loss occurs, it is often too late to fully restore sight. That is why it is crucial that diabetics have an annual comprehensive eye exam.
While Randy had already been an avid eyeglass wearer, the importance of a comprehensive yearly eye exam has became a message he wants to share with the public. He believes eyewear should be a fun, bold accessory that empowers men by enhancing their personal style. A new vision corrective prescription resulting from a yearly eye exam is a great opportunity to update your wardrobe. Why not look great while caring for your eyes and choose one of Randy's favorite accessories, eyewear!
